What customers say
★★★★★ 4.94 average · 913 reviews★★★★★“Great tasting and quality [plant] protein.”
★★★★★“The chocolate is definitely my favourite as I don’t have a sweet tooth. I use the protein powder as a top up or a quick boost when I feel I need to hit my protein goals.”
★★★★★“Great produce fantastic taste.”
★★★★☆“I am not really a fan of protein powder, but the texture was good. The Salted Caramel is ok. The Vanilla I mixed with Milo and it was quite nice. The chocolate sample I had was not to my liking. To be fair, I don’t usually like any of the chocolate protein powders.”

What can upset a stomach in a protein powder?
Triggers differ from person to person, and the cause of discomfort isn't always the powder. Here are the most common culprits and where Green Choice stands.
| Possible trigger | Why it can matter | Green Choice |
|---|---|---|
| Lactose | Whey concentrate and milk-based powders contain it | No lactose. Plant protein only. |
| Sugar alcohols | Sweeteners like sorbitol or xylitol can cause bloating in some people | None listed. Sweetened with cane sugar and stevia. |
| Gums and thickeners | Some people find them difficult | None added |
| Legume proteins and FODMAPs | Peas and beans contain fermentable carbohydrates that bother some people | Contains pea and faba, which are legumes. We don't make low-FODMAP claims. |
| Serving size and speed | A big serve of anything new can be a lot at once | You choose. Start with a half serve. |
| Other add-ins | Extra fibre, caffeine or fruit in a shake can add up | Introduce one change at a time |

How to introduce a protein powder gently
- Start with half a serve. One scoop (25g) instead of two, and build up over a week or two.
- Mix with water first. It keeps things simple while you see how you feel.
- Drink it slowly, not all at once, and avoid very cold, large shakes while you're testing.
- Change one thing at a time. Don't add a new powder, extra fibre and a new supplement in the same week.
- Note how you feel. A simple food diary helps spot patterns.
- Stop and get advice if symptoms are persistent or severe.

Protein powder for a sensitive stomach FAQs
What is the best protein powder for a sensitive stomach?
There isn't one that suits everyone. Look for a short ingredient list, no lactose, no sugar alcohols and no unnecessary additives, and introduce it gradually. A sample pack lets you test with one serve.
Can plant protein cause bloating?
It can for some people, especially at first or in large serves, because legume proteins contain fermentable carbohydrates. Others find plant protein easier than whey. Start with a half serve.
Is your protein powder low FODMAP?
We don't make low-FODMAP claims. Our powders contain pea and faba, which are legumes. If you follow a low-FODMAP diet, speak to your dietitian.
Does your protein powder contain sugar alcohols or gums?
No sugar alcohols or gums are listed in the ingredients. Our powders are sweetened with cane sugar and a stevia sweetener.
Is plant protein easier to digest than whey?
It depends on the person. Plant protein has no lactose, which helps if lactose is your trigger, but it isn't automatically easier for everyone.
What if I'm lactose intolerant?
Our powders contain no lactose or milk proteins in the ingredients. They're made in a facility that also processes milk, so speak to your doctor if you have a milk allergy.
Is it gluten free and dairy free?
Yes. It contains pea and is made in a facility that also processes milk, soy, gluten and egg, so speak to your doctor if you have coeliac disease or a severe allergy.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your location, and orders over $150 ship free. Orders are usually dispatched via Australia Post within 1–3 business days. See our shipping policy.
Can I try it before buying a full pouch?
Yes. The 3-flavour sample pack costs $9.99 and includes Chocolate, Vanilla and Salted Caramel.
