High-Protein Overnight Weetbix (3 Flavours)

Bowl of chocolate protein overnight Weet-Bix topped with banana, peanut butter and cacao nibs beside a Green Choice Proteins Chocolate pouch in a home kitchen

Overnight Weet-Bix is the easiest breakfast you can make the night before: five minutes of prep, no cooking, and it is ready when you wake up. This high-protein version uses plant protein powder to take a regular bowl from about 8g to around 30g of protein per serve. It is creamy, not gluggy, and it is vegan when made with plant milk.

Below you will find the base recipe plus three flavours: chocolate, vanilla berry and salted caramel. Each uses a different Green Choice plant based protein powder. If you also want something hot, try our protein pancakes.

Chocolate Overnight Weet-Bix

Spoonful of creamy chocolate overnight Weet-Bix topped with banana, peanut butter and cacao nibs

Use Chocolate Plant Protein Powder. Top with sliced banana, a spoonful of peanut butter and a few cacao nibs. For extra chocolate, stir in 1 tsp cocoa powder.

Vanilla Berry Overnight Weet-Bix

Use Vanilla Plant Protein Powder. Stir 1/2 cup frozen berries into the mix (they thaw overnight and tint it pink) and top with dairy-free yoghurt and fresh berries.

Salted Caramel Overnight Weet-Bix

Use Salted Caramel Plant Protein Powder. Top with sliced apple, a few chopped pecans and a drizzle of tahini or peanut butter.

Why add protein to overnight Weet-Bix?

Two Weet-Bix biscuits are mostly carbohydrate and provide only a few grams of protein. Adding a serve of protein powder makes breakfast more filling and helps you reach your daily protein target without cooking. It also means you can prep breakfast in 5 minutes and grab it from the fridge on the way out. The chia seeds and the biscuits' fibre make it a balanced bowl, not just a protein hit.

Tips

  • Stir the powder into the dry Weet-Bix first, then add the milk, to avoid clumps.
  • Use unsweetened milk; the flavoured powders are already lightly sweetened.
  • Prep up to 3 nights ahead; keep covered in the fridge.
  • Too thick? Add a splash of milk. Too thin? Add another crumbled biscuit or 1/2 tbsp chia.
